A Different Kind of Support

The 7-Seeds Framework

Seven places to pause, notice and explore

Rather than focusing only on children's behaviour, Rooted Together invites you to consider the whole family system — relationships, environments, rhythms, emotions, belonging and the adult's own experience.

The 7-Seeds are emerging from Natasha's ongoing action research and creative practice.

They are not a checklist, parenting formula or set of instructions.

They are invitations to notice.

🌱 Safety: What helps us (adult/child) feel secure?

Exploring emotional and physical safety, trust, predictability and the conditions that allow each family member to feel secure enough to participate, explore and grow.

🌱 Connection: What helps us feel close?

Noticing the everyday moments, relationships and experiences that help family members feel seen, heard, respected and connected.

🌱 Regulation: What helps us return to peace within ourselves?

Exploring what happens when emotions become intense and what helps individuals and families move towards greater calm, awareness and connection.

🌱 Rhythm: What patterns support our family life?

Noticing the rhythms and routines already present within your family and exploring where small changes might create greater ease, predictability or connection.

🌱 Environment: What is our environment inviting?

Looking at the physical and relational environment around us and considering how spaces, materials, routines and expectations may support independence, participation and shared family life.

🌱 Belonging: Where do we feel that we belong?

Exploring home as an important experience of community and considering the relationships, places and wider networks that contribute to a family's sense of belonging.

🌱 Leadership: How does the adult's awareness influence family life?

Exploring the many ways family members lead, follow, listen, respond and contribute — while recognising that supporting children also requires adults to notice and care for their own wellbeing.

Remember

Not a checklist.

Not a parenting formula.

Not seven things you need to get right.

An invitation to notice what your family may need.

What are we exploring together?

Through Rooted Together, we are exploring the possibility that families may benefit from:

  • respectful and reciprocal relationships;

  • spaces to slow down and breathe;

  • opportunities to pause and notice;

  • compassionate reflection;

  • small, manageable experiments;

  • supportive accompaniment;

  • community and connection;

  • curiosity about what is already working.

You don't have to arrive with a problem.

Rooted Together is also for parents who are simply curious.

You might be:

  • feeling overwhelmed;

  • navigating a transition;

  • wondering about your child's growing independence;

  • wanting to explore family rhythms;

  • exploring Montessori-informed practice at home;

  • looking for community;

  • or simply wanting to understand your child — and yourself — through fresh eyes, ears and heart.

Wherever you are, you are welcome

Our Approach

Observe

Before changing anything, notice what is already happening.

Reflect

Become curious about what you notice — within yourself, your relationships and your environment.

Experiment

Try one small change or explore one new possibility.

Notice

What happened?

Adapt

Keep what feels supportive. Reconsider what doesn't.

Grow

Continue the conversation and allow your understanding to develop.

This is the same cycle that continues to shape the development of Rooted Together itself:

Act → Observe → Reflect → Adjust
